They are right in their thinking because when taken few precautions meticulously, stretch marks can be avoided. I am giving here a few tips which would help you in prevention of these marks.

Stretch marks most commonly occurs on your abdomen during pregnancy, but in addition, they can also form on thighs, buttocks and breasts as these are the other areas where the skin expands quickly to the weight gain which occurs during pregnancy.

As said earlier, you can of course prevent stretch marks during pregnancy by following few steps and changing your eating habits and lifestyle a little.

Stress Management

The entire duration of pregnancy is very stressful to both body and mind. Stress free routine along with practicing stress management through relaxation exercises is important in preventing stress marks during pregnancy. Meditation is one powerful method in stress management. Follow and practice a simple meditation technique on a daily basis.

Moisturizing The Skin:

Moisturizing your skin with soft moisturizer help your skin to relax and expand without stress or tearing which can cause stress marks. This works well in preventing stretch marks during pregnancy by making the skin more flexible and elastic accommodating the expansion which happens during this period. Miniaturization of your skin should start the moment you know you are pregnant. This should be done with good quality moisturizing lotions and/or oils. You should use moisturizers to your, tummy, sides, buttocks, thighs, and breast. This is because most women tend to gain weight during pregnancy and as a result they may get stretch marks on other parts of body apart from the abdomen. Apply moisturizer using firm, and circular strokes. This should be used twice daily morning and night.

These lotions and creams are made using the substances which aid the skin to remain elastic and flexible throughout the pregnancy. Creams also contain vitamins like A, E and C which are good to your skin.

Yes just say no to coffee and other caffeine containing drinks. Caffeine can dehydrate your skin and results in your skin losing its elastic nature.
